A small thing, an efficient thing…

Children Home
It is a small thing, it is a good thing. A dozen of children, girls and boys; they get a safe shelter, a loving atmosphere, healthy food and a good education. Their start into life has been hard, now they can develop, they can play and jump and sing in order to become (we all hope it) strong and courageous adults who care for others. Maybe later on life will again be hard on them, one never knows. But at least for some years they can enjoy it without hunger nor pain nor fear. A small thing, a very very good thing.

It has been three years since I visited the medical project and the evening schools for the first time. Already back then I was impressed and deeply touched by the help these two projects offered to t he underprivileged people of Tiruvannamalai and its outskirts.
This summer once more time I went to India. This time accompanied by my mother, to see how the projects had developed in the meantime. And what wonderful progresses I could discover: the medical project, once offering medical aid by going to the poor hills people with a jeep, is now doing the same with a big mobile clinic, allowing the staff to treat more patients in a better way. Also the evening schools have improved, there are better facilities now, where the children can study in a peaceful and safe environment, supported by several good teachers who care for them very much.

Alexius & Matty Collette (Alexius was CEO Philips Innovation Campus 2006-2010)
During our stay in Bangalore from 2006 -2010 we have visited many NGO’s and schools (both government as well as private). In 2008 we met Madhan, Erika and their team for the first time. A remarkable visit! Since, we have been a few times back. Every time we meet them we are touched in our heart by their integrity, humility and continuous drive to expand their care for the less privileged people. Also in difficult circumstances they show resilience in pursuing their projects. Great leadership, great steam!

The children’s home radiates the same warmth and happiness. In the western eyes these kids may not get a luxurious place, but they really enjoy the care of the staff and each other. We have good memories when took them out for a walk on the Arunachala mountain and when we joined them for Diwali (Festival Of Lights).

The first time we joined the medical team; they rented a vehicle and had to improvise a clinic in an empty building in a remote village. These people cannot afford to go to a hospital in Tiruvannamalai and get medical treatment. Most problems could be handled on the spot; some patients had to be taken for treatment to a hospital. We have seen the mobile clinic operating and were impressed by the much better quality and speed of the medical care. Our compliments to the team who had to work so hard and be so patient to get the mobile clinic built and approved for use in the villages!

“It is my pleasure to say few words about the Mobile Clinic project of Regenboog India Foundation, a truly self less organization which is running by an efficient people like Mr. Madhan, Mrs. Erika and their team in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India. I have visited their functional premises many times and really impressed with the way they are handling medical camps and treating poor and needy patients in and around Tiruvannamalai. They are well equipped with a state of the art mobile clinic through which they are providing free health check-ups and medicines to poor people which really involves huge financial commitment. This team has a vision and goal to achieve which is really appreciable; it is an honor to get associated with this team and to contribute whatever we can for their noble work. I wish them all the best and success for their future work which is nothing but serving humanity” - Dr.Ashok
